Description
Little, 1 and half year old Tukta (pic taken in 2012 Taronga Zoo Sydney) made it this time under her mum and her mum gently moved her foot so she can fit . Tukta trumpeted in joy !
At birth Tukta weighed 120kg and was heavier than both the male calves previously born at the Zoo. Tukta was conceived through a natural mating between Pak Boon and Gung and is a half sister to Luk Chai.
Tukta has been incredibly strong and stable on her feet since the first moments after her birth. She is a strong willed, outgoing and confident calf who is adapting very quickly to life in the herd and learning every day.

I love them! What a great capture! The Zoos in Australia do such a beautiful job.You would do a wonderful job of photographing the Zoo animals, as you already do, and making a a large tourist folder for visitors. (or are you already doing that?) Smiles! V/L

A great image, so endearing and wonderful story! LF No doubt she would have grown up to be a Matriarch of the herd in the wild. Hope she has a long and good life at the zoo.

Thank you, its a good Zoo, I wish elephants had the range they need to survive and no poachers, but unfortunately its not how it is ! :)
