Description
Not sure was she was sniffing here. The Quokka bounds and hops along the ground although it can climb trees if it needs to. It will sit on its hind legs to look around and will also use its front paws to search for and pick up food. Quokkas have very sharp paws.
This pic was taken at Wildlife sanctuary Darling Harbour, Sydney . But naturally they only live in Western Australia in few small colonies. However there are around 10,000-12,000 of these animals living on Rottnest island.
They have sharp claws and it's not uncommon for children visiting Rottnest Island to be treated for bites. THey very clever animal, which is learn to adjust to human population, however on mainland foxes and cats wiping out their populations.

Don't think I'd want to come in contact with one of these with their sharp paws, but it is a beautiful animal, Miroslava! Nice shot and info! l/f
