Plumed whistling duck having a nap at Wildlife Sanctuary in Darling Harbour.
The whistling-ducks are monomorphic (sexes the same colour) but males tend to be slightly larger, with longer plumes. They average size is 50 cm and they Australian native.

What a charming and delightful Duck, Miroslava! I wish we had seen one while we were there, one or both times. We spent quite a bit of time there and went to several zoos, but that was a long time ago, now. Cute capture! V/F
