Description
Extinct in many countries : ‘Think, then ask before you buy.’
To help preserve giraffe populations, boycott products made with giraffe body parts and encourage others to do the same. Always avoid products made from animal parts while overseas.
Giraffe are threatened by hunters, with their tail prized for good luck bracelets, fly swatters and string for sewing beads. Their coats were used in the past for shield coverings.
These factors, in combination with the loss of habitat has resulted in Giraffes being listed as EXTINCT in African countries such as Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Guinea, Malawi, Mauritania and Senegal.
