Common Brown Butterfly
The species was first recorded for science by Banks and Solander at Botany Bay on Cook's first voyage in May 1770. It is one of the few insects that must have come from Botany Bay and could not have been collected at Cooktown.
This picture was taken at Sheepwash Creek walking path. part of Jarvis Bay national park.
