Description
The little cute zebra finch finishes off the food which fall down from the feeder (previous pic).
The zebra finch (Taeniopygia guttata ),is the most common estrildid finch of Central Australia and ranges over most of the continent.
They mate for life ! THe female selects the nesting side and the male gets most of the material to built it .
Zebra Finches feed in large flocks on fallen or ripening grass seeds. Insects may be taken at any time of the year, but are particularly favoured when feeding young. Feeding takes place on the ground, and, unlike some other grassfinches, birds never pull seed heads down with their feet.
Taken at Wildlife sanctuary Sydney in Darling Harbour.

Beautifully captured Miroslava. We have a lot of feral Scaley Breasted Munias here. Such fun to see.
