Description
The travelling box in Sydney wax museum, Australia , gives extra information about 2 great men.
Henry Lawson was an Australian writer and poet. Along with his contemporary Banjo Paterson, Lawson is among the best-known Australian poets and fiction writers of the colonial period and is often called Australia's "greatest writer".
Banjo Paterson was Australia’s leading balladist, and famous for writing “Waltzing Matilda”. Paterson was a war correspondent, drove an ambulance in France, and was later an officer in the remount service in the Middle East.
He was also a city man, working as a solicitor. In 1895 his collection of ballads, The man from Snowy River, and other verses, was published; it became an immediate hit. “Waltzing Matilda” appeared soon afterwards.
