Description
Aboriginal elder Uncle Max Dulumunmun Harrison and his eight-year-old great-grandson, Kayen Bannon-Harrison, led one of seven smoking ceremonies, which, for the first time, are a focal point of Australia Day events.
A smoking ceremony is an ancient custom among Indigenous Australians that involves burning various native plants to produce smoke, which is believed to have cleansing properties and the ability to ward off bad spirits. Leaves from plants from round the world were put in for burning and cleansing.
This picture was taken 26th of January on Australian Day in Sydney Harbour.

I am glad you like it and I am also happy that on Australian day we also celebrate discovering new culture and people, and we learn about their customs, its very cool.
