Description
This cute guys was climbing the glass at Wildlife Sydney sanctuary in Darling Harbour. And since they are in the dark section where you cannot see much , it must mean they are nocturnal.
Northern giant cave gecko (Pseudothecadactylus lindneri) has a big triangular head, large eyes, a long, slender tail and grows to 18 centimetres long. It is purplish brown, with irregular bands and spots of creamy yellow running across it. The underbelly is off-white and the iris is yellow to orange.
Geckos are reptiles, reptiles are cold blooded, have scales and breath air. Geckos are small lizards, they are nocturnal and have large eyes. Some Geckos have special padded fingers and feet. This allows them to generate friction and run easily up vertical surface including windows and ceilings. Geckos lay up to two eggs per clutch, with very hard shells.
Each gecko species has a call, this is uncommon amongst lizards but coudnt find what call this gecko has.
Geckos do not blink, they use their tongues to clean their eyes.
Geckos can drop their tails and grow new ones.
Females lay a clutch of two eggs. Giant cave geckos are mature at two years old and can live for 20 years.
These guys can only be find north in Northern territory.

A unique and excellent capture of this Giant Gecko, Miroslava! Great lighting, and it stands out strongly on that dark background! L/F

Great capture, Miroslava! LF Thanks so much for your concern, Miroslava! I am home now, as of last night, but is way more difficult for me! Doing wound care at home and IV antibiotics. No hyperbaric treatments after all. So, hoping and praying God puts His healing hands on me to provide the greatest healing of all! Keep the prayers coming, my friend! Love you!
