Description
Cicadas are the loudest insects in the world and there are more than 200 species in Australia with some very fun interesting names. And they can be very loud, their song can last up to 20 minutes !!
The common name of the Floury Baker (or floury miller) cicada comes from the flour-like dusting that covers much of the body surface of newly emerged adults which grow around 10cm.
This Cicada landed on my fly screen, Northern beaches , Sydney .

this is amazing Miroslava. We have them also in Thailand and I have them in a tree 3 meters from my entrance door. I agree, they are the loudest l/f/t/p

beautiful detail. I have never seen a live cicada, only their shells. How interesting. It is pretty cute!
