Description
Figure 8 pools is unique and natural formation of a number 8 (shape) eroded in the rocks near the ocean. Interest in the Figure 8 Pools has been partly due to exposure on the internet via social media.
People have been washed off at the Figure 8 Pools multiple times in the past, as well as several deaths along this stretch of coastline due to rogue waves. The rogue waves are a common occurrence, with huge waves happening regularly when the sea is up.
You can only go there when tied is low and when ocean is calm. But even then, you taking a risk. Walk there takes about 2 hours and its very steep, David had to help me pull me up few times on the way back.
In the left top corner, you can see just tiny bit of the ocean.
It’s a beautiful area in the Royal National Park (south Sydney) to witness Australia’s natural rugged coastline, spectacular rocks and flora and if you lucky , native animals !!
